We are currently looking for a General Manager to lead a newly formed Operational Resilience business unit, joining the executive leadership team of the Risk & Data Analytics division. The Operational Resilience team is responsible for providing specialist expertise and insights to a range of stakeholders across APRA, on matters including operational risk, cyber and technology risk, and other new and emerging cross-industry risks. This will include leading APRA's strategic focus on improving cyber resilience across the financial system. Collaboration and engagement with relevant government agencies and industry bodies also forms part of the role, as an important component of APRA's initiative to improve external collaboration. As General Manager for Operational Resilience you will: Develop and implement strategic business and project plans for the branch in line with APRA's Corporate Plan Lead and develop direct reports and the wider team, including identifying employee development opportunities and fostering future talent, while growing an emerging function Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships across APRA and the industry to ensure sound business outcomes Assist in the development of prudential regulation strategies and standards whilst ensuring consistent and high quality delivery of technical advice and support To be successful you will have a proven track record in leading and developing high performing teams, a strong understanding of financial sector risks and a working knowledge of the structure of the Australian financial system. You will also be capable of representing APRA in industry groups and international regulatory gatherings. Expertise in either operational or cyber risk is highly regarded, as is a sound understanding of the principles of prudential supervision.
