How a typical Feed Reader works

The process is easy!
1. Download the free software and install.
2. Paste the address of the RSS Job Feed eg http://rss.positionsvacant.com.au/rss/rss.aspx?ind=01
3. Wait for your job to appear as a pop up on your desktop.

Notification will pop up in your task tray.
Free software can display your job search while you do other things.

Software called "news readers", "news aggregators" or "RSS clients"
(e.g. RSSReader - freeware or FeedReader - freeware) can interpret these feeds to let you scan our latest jobs. Just enter the URLs for the feeds you want to subscribe to and get automatic updates.
Note: All feeds are RSS 2.0-compliant.

Outlook users can now use plug-ins such as NewsGator or IntraVNews to integrate our RSS Job Feeds into your current system. Microsoft Excel users can also integrate into Excel using plug-ins such as EaZyRSS.

MobileRSS enables you to view RSS Job Search anywhere on any mobile device.
Just Add your selection of RSS feeds and synchronise with your PDA or Nokia mobile phone.

Developers, Webmasters, and Job sites are welcome to download and distribute our RSS job feeds subject to approval (see Terms of Service below).

Sample Job Search RSS by Feedreader Freeware

What you need...

  1. After choosing the RSS Feed that is suitable to your job search, copy the link (for example http://rss.positionsvacant.com.au/rss/rss.aspx?ind=01&loc=21).
  2. Choose whether you would like the jobs delivered to your desktop as a pop-up, a list, a scrolling news reader or incorporated into a web page like MyYahoo.
  3. Download the most suitable software and paste the RSS Job Feed address into the "RSS source" in your settings. (See below for automatically adding your job search to My Yahoo, Rocket, Bloogz.)
