6 month contract is currently available for an experienced Technical Leader/Developer looking after web sites and applications for the Vocational Education & Training groups. A new project is working on a Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) approach to developing new applications and converting some existing systems. The role will involve: - Co-ordinate technical development and integration activities across a number of applications under re-development in an Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) environment.
- Assist with design and programming tasks as required following an agile methodology
- Undertake high-level and detailed analysis of systems requirements
- Prepare or participate in the preparation of appropriate environments to run and maintain systems
- Provide sound technical advice
- Produce all necessary technical documentation.
Candidates should have: - A minimum of two years experience in web applications and/or e-business
- A minimum of two years experience in software development
- Tertiary qualifications in the field of Computer Science (or related disciplines).
- Proven experience leading development activities in an SOA environment.
- Proven experience as .net developer
- Sound research, analysis and evaluation skills
- Proven experience in development of business systems
- Sound understanding of Internet systems and Internet security principles
- Experience and knowledge in the design, development and implementation of web applications using Microsoft development tools will be a distinct advantage. The tools are as follows:
- Visual Studio .NET, C#, ASP.NET
- Biztalk, message queuing and workflow systems experience an advantage
- Web services (or WCF)
- Microsoft .Net framework
